64bit help

hello i downloaded vista 64bit and installed fine but when i go to display settings and try to switch to 64 bit from 32, the 64bit is not there but i can run the internet explorer 64. do i need to reinstall vista or am i missing something. i am running a AMD 64 fx55, 1.5gb 400mhz ram, 7300gs geforce pci e 512 mb card, and ASUS mobo -- wickedclown bitch

32bit in Display Settings refers to 32bit colour depth. It has nothing to do with having a 64bit processor or a 64bit operating system. Maximum colour depth IS 32bit.

I'm guessing MSFT is going to get a very "interesting" profile of the ability level of the average user from this...
